In the context of the strongly growing wood manufacturing and export interior industry, expanding production area and optimizing factory space have become vital problems for enterprises. The Wooden Stories Manufacturing Factory project is one of the key works requiring extremely strict technical standards regarding loading capacity, material durability, and construction progress.
The site diary on May 15, 2026, recorded an important milestone: The deployment of the steel mezzanine floor installation - Phase 2. Choosing the steel mezzanine floor solution for the Wooden Stories factory not only helps the investor double the usable area without altering the original core reinforced concrete foundation structure but also saves up to 30% of costs and 50% of time compared to traditional concrete floor construction.
To transform the technical drawings into a solid industrial steel floor system, our team of engineers and highly skilled workers has been on duty 24/7 at the site, performing assembly processes with absolute precision under the strict supervision of Chief Engineer Nguyen Manh Thai.
The success of a high-quality B2B project does not come by chance. It is the result of scientific personnel organization and the support of modern mechanical equipment systems. At the Wooden Stories construction site, the "Lean Construction" personnel model has been thoroughly applied.
01 Technical Supervisor (Nguyen Manh Thai): Fully responsible for reading drawings, checking elevation, column verticality, inspecting welding quality, and tightening expansion bolts and structural connection bolts. At the same time, closely monitoring occupational safety (HSE).
05 Professional Structural Workers: Skilled mechanical workers holding pressure welding certificates and working-at-height certificates, responsible for cutting, fitting, tack welding, and finish welding the steel frame system.
01 Mobile Crane Operator: Controlling the self-propelled crane to move and lift heavy I-beams and H-beams from the ground floor to high installation positions safely and accurately.
To ensure each steel detail is perfectly connected, we synchronously equipped industry-standard devices including:
Specialized self-propelled mobile crane: The core equipment for lifting and lowering steel beams.
Specialized high-current welding machines: Creating deep-penetration, good load-bearing welds, preventing beam cracking.
High-end magnetic drills and cutting machines: Ensuring steel dimension adjustments at the site (if any) and absolutely precise bolt hole drilling.
The construction items on May 15, 2026, focused on two core tasks that determine up to 90% of the factory mezzanine loading capacity: Steel column erection and Main & secondary beam frame installation.
Steel columns are the components that bear the vertical compression load of the entire mezzanine floor. The process is carried out as follows:
Foundation centering and anchor bolt positioning: Supervisor Nguyen Manh Thai uses surveying instruments to accurately locate the column base placement on the existing concrete floor.
Lifting steel columns: The mobile crane brings the steel column into position. Workers align the verticality using plumb bobs and laser levels.
Fixing the column base: The column base is tightly connected to the concrete floor through a high-strength chemical anchor bolt system, ensuring no displacement or shaking when the factory operates with high-capacity machinery.
The steel beam system plays the role of distributing the floor load evenly to the columns. The erection process requires smooth coordination between the workers at height and the crane driver:
Installing main beams (Main Beams): Large I-beams are lifted and connected to the column heads using flanges and high-strength bolts. Main beams are responsible for bearing the entire load of the mezzanine floor.
Installing secondary beams (Secondary Beams): After the main beams are fixed, the secondary beam system is installed interchangeably according to standard spacing (usually from 600mm to 1200mm depending on the load design). Secondary beams help increase the overall rigidity of the floor and act as the direct supporting layer for the floor plates (decking sheet or load-bearing cement board) later.
Welding work and weld inspection: Welders perform reinforcement welding at connection points in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. The supervisor conducts acceptance inspection by visual check and weld thickness gauges before moving to the next construction step.
For Grade-A projects, safety is not just a slogan; it is human life and the contractor's reputation. Through real images from the Wooden Stories construction site, it is clear that HSE standards are strictly applied:
100% of personnel equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Color-coded safety helmets (yellow for workers/supervisors), protective uniform clothing with reflective strips to support identification, steel-toe anti-nail safety shoes, anti-cut gloves, and safety goggles during welding.
Using safe mobile scaffolding: The scaffolding system is equipped with wheels with locking brakes, helping workers access high installation positions (about 3-4 meters) easily and safely. The scaffolding has a spacious, solid operating platform.
Site electrical safety: The power supply system for welding machines and cutting machines is neatly arranged, avoiding friction against the sharp edges of steel beams, minimizing the risk of electrical leakage.
Currently, the official handover date of the project is being continuously updated by the project management department in coordination with the investor Wooden Stories to match the installation schedule of the imported wood production machinery lines.
With the excellent completion of this phase 2 steel frame erection item, we are confident that the progress is on the right track, even exceeding the set targets. The next phases including: pouring concrete on deck sheets/installing floor plates, steel surface fireproof treatment, and finish painting will be deployed in the coming days.
We commit to bringing the most optimal steel structure solution: Space-saving - Maximum loading capacity - Sustainable over time.
